Losing Weight Is A Way Of Life

Losing weight can be very difficult for some people, yet very easy for others. One thing to remember is dieting and exercise should not be a chore, but should become a way of life. Whether you want to lose 5 pounds or 100, it can be a very frustrating process. Easing yourself into a new daily routine can help you accomplish this task.

You can not lose weight and define those trouble areas, which become baggy from losing weight, if you only diet, or only exercise. You must combine these 2 to create a healthier more beautiful you. Too often people want to lose weight NOW and go to drastic measures, only to find themselves hungry, tired, sluggish, or worse. Instead of jumping right in to the diet pool, take small steps. Yes, this may take longer to see those results you desire, but you will feel better in the long run.

Think baby steps. Remember, you had to learn to crawl before you could walk, and walk before you could run.

So, how can you do this? Very easily. Think for a minute about what your daily activity is like. Don't have much energy, then start slow. Don't rush into an hour long exercise video if you tire after 10 minutes. If your doing something as simple as cleaning the house, try turning on some music. You might be suprised to find yourself dancing along to one of your favorite songs. And guess what, your burning calories. If you don't walk much, this is a great time to start. But remember, start out slow. Walk around the block in town and slowly increase your distance.

Now think about what your daily eating habits are like. Drink alot of soft drinks? (Yea, me too.) But this packs on pounds, even if it is diet soda. Switch to water. You can get zero calorie drink packets if you don't like plain water. (I did this for a week and actaully lost 5 pounds). Eating is a key to losing weight, as weird as it sounds. However, you need to choose your foods wisely. Put down the candy bars, cookies, and potato chips, and opt for something healthy. Fruits and veggies. Even meat, which is a great source of protein. One thing to remember, no matter WHAT diet plan you are one, if you are craving one of your favorite foods, have a small serving. It will help cure your craving so you don't over indulge later.

One other thing that will help you is to make a plan. Make a list of things you want to change. For example:

Week 1 - Drink more water (__ oz.) Take a 5 minute walk 3 times this week

Week 2 - Add more fruits to my diet. Walk for 15 minutes 3 times this week

You get the idea. Remember, baby steps. Hang this somewhere you will see it daily to remind you of your goals.

Good Luck in your journey and life changing desires.
