The Health and Fitness Diet! Can you believe people actually enter these words into a search engine looking for a diet plan? Why not the Twinkie diet? How about the Green Tea Diet? Or my favorite, the One Day diet where you can lose eight pounds in one day. What do you drink some fiber (Drano) and visit the bathroom? I like the sound of the Peanut Butter diet - you eat peanut butter with every meal. You’ve got to be joking! What about the Health and Fitness Diet?
Ya, as a matter of fact, why are you reading this article? Are you looking for information on what the health and fitness diet is? Are you really ready to actually begin a health and fitness diet and stop all the nonsense? Are you tired of the quick fixes that don’t work? Is a diet that has the words health and fitness in it make it sound credible? “Yes, for the New Year I am going to try the Health and Fitness Diet!” It just sounds like something that will work, right?
I have to tell you this story. A new acquaintance of Hilga’s and mine has observed how we eat, how diligent we are at exercising, yet pokes fun at us. “Your are going to wear your shoes out!” She obviously needs to lose weight. Her husband looks like he is about to give birth. He likes to parade around without a shirt on - yuk! But, she is always saying, “I need to go on a diet!” But, the words don’t fit the actions as the cookies and candy continue to be a staple in her diet. That must then be the Cookie and Candy diet? It’s not working!
Pardon Franz! He is really frustrated today. People are pathetic! They say one thing, yet do another, when it comes to health and fitness. They want the thin and fit bod, but they are not willing to put in the work to get there. It’s just too hard! Horse pucky! I think it was our ancestors who said anything in life that is worthwhile, achieving it will be difficult, but if you hang in there and work at it, you will accomplish your goal. Or, more currently George McFly said, “If you put your mind to it you can accomplish anything!”
