One of the worse feelings in the world is the realization that we need help losing weight because the tactics we are trying are just not working. Some diets work for some people while the same diet may actually make another person of the same size put on weight ( disaster! ). So what step should you take first? realistically, the first thing a diet should do for you is to stop you from putting on further weight. Make sure the diet you have chosen does this. You should also always set goals for weight loss but at the same time make sure they are realistic goals. You do not want to be struggling and straining to reach goals that are much to high for you to reach ( at the same time don't expect fast results ).

There is no healthy way to lose weight fast so erase this idea from your mind as soon as you can. Diets take time and effort before they start working properly. The best way to diet is to change your eating habits into healthier ones - basically try to lead a healthier lifestyle. A good way to start this is to drink only water as your liquid refreshment and drink as much as you can every day. Intervals will become very important to you as well. As a rule of thumb the interval between eating must be at least three hours and do not eat after three hours before you a due to go to bed.

Exercise should not be under-rated when you embark on a diet program so make sure you implement plenty of walking into your lifestyle. Remember - diet does not have to be a dirty word. Find the correct diet plan for your lifestyle and good luck.
