Dont Be Fobbed Off With Ibs!

Don\'t Be Fobbed Off With Ibs!

So you want to lose weight? If like me you have keyed some weight related words into a search engine you will have come up with about 200,000,000 results! Without even opening up any of the websites I can guarantee that they will all be saying pretty much the same thing.

If you eat less and diet more it stands to reason that you should lose weight, in fact it sounds so logical you can’t fault the idea. You can’t fault the logic if you are a normal overweight person. Unfortunately there are a huge number of people out there who just cannot lose weight. Try as they might they will never lose weight through normal diet and exercise.

Some of these people may have genuine problems with their glands, if you have an underactive thyroid gland you won’t lose weight.

I know exactly what it’s like to go for years and years asking the same old question. “Why can’t I lose weight?” I know how soul destroying it can be when you know you have followed the diet plan to the letter and you find at the end of the week that you haven’t lost a single pound.

I know how depressing it can be when you go to a slimming class and regardless of the fact that you have kept rigidly to the diet you don’t lose any weight and then to add insult to injury the dietician accuses you of binging on the quiet! I ran out of one such class in floods of tears.

For several years I was fobbed off with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). If you get this moist ridiculous diagnosis do not accept it. This is what Doctors tell you when they don’t know what’s really wrong with you and can’t be bothered to find out. In fact to accept this diagnosis could have fatal consequences.

When I was finally correctly diagnosed I looked it up on the internet and discovered that if I hadn’t been diagnosed the risk to my health was so serious, I could have died.

I also discovered that if I had been diagnosed sooner I wouldn’t have any of the related problems that I have now. However as the eternal optimist I always look on the bright side and console myself with the fact that after losing so much weight I look better than I did 20 years ago! So don’t just keep asking “Why can’t I lose weight?”
