My Insanity Workout Review - Does It Work

In this review I will give you my honest opinion on the Insanity Workout, and whether or not you should purchase it, and if it does infact work.

About Myself

Let me start by saying that I am a Zumba instructor and have tried various workout programs throughout the years.

Zumba had pretty much changed my life and got me into better shape. I have seen reviews for P90X and Insanity (both Beachbody products), and have decided to try Insanity since it seemed to offer more of what I was looking for. Prior to the Insanity program I was about 136lbs and approximately 5’4 in height. Zumba was great in that it provided straight cardio to maintain my weight and still allowed me to eat what I wanted. However, I needed a program that was going to do the same, yet give me more strength and muscle tone.

The Program And Review

Insanity is an intense floor exercise program. The great thing about it is that you can do this workout in your own home without spending time going to the gym. This workout uses your body weight with isometric and plyometric exercises, as well as cardio and core exercises.

The program is broken into segments and provides one 'recovery' week in between.

I am on the second round with this program and I must say it is pretty intense. I finish each workout feeling accomplished and downright tired. When I first started, it was hard to keep up, but Shaun T says that you can go at your own pace and that did make things a little easier.

My job requires me to commute to work, so sometimes I am too wiped out to even have a workout at the end of the day. With that being the case, I have cut down to doing this about 4 days out of the week, and I still have great results.

Since buying Insanity Workout, I have been able to maintain a cardio workout for a longer period of time, my leg strength as increased, my muscle definition has increased, and I have dropped 2 pant sizes.

It is very important to correctly breathe during the excersizes as you may pull a neck muscle like I did.

If you are new to intense weight programs, I would take it slow in the beginning. Make sure that you are light on your knees and feet with this program. Doing the exercises the right way will keep you from straining your muscles and will provide for a more invigorating workout.

Also, make sure to drink lots of water as it is important to stay hydrated. You do sweat a lot. I literally sweat right through my hair.

The one thing I absolutely love about Insanity is that it enabled me to lose weight and get toned in a short period of time. And yet, I was still able to eat what I wanted and not worry about having a strict diet.

This doesn't mean that you can eat Snicker bars or Reeses Peanut Butter Cups all day either. They do include a nutrition guide to help you choose the right foods to eat. While you do not have to stick to this guide, it is good to have so it can provide you with a better eating lifestyle if you have a poor one.

I got the best feeling in the world when I started to come into work and people were noticing the change in my body.

Not only will your body change, but your mood will as well. I became more confident in the way I looked which made me a happier person in general.
