If you have tried to lose weight without dieting before, you will know full well how important it is to create a positive mind-set that is in alignment with your goals. Without this, you will feel like you are struggling and moving in the wrong direction. So if you’ve been asking yourself how can I lose weight with affirmations? - here are some tips to getting it right so that you can create affirmations that work for you.

First, we need to look at where people go wrong. Let’s say you set yourself an affirmation to be a certain size so it goes something like this 'I am so happy and grateful now that I am a size 6'. Ticks all the boxes right? It is in present tense like you’ve been taught and it focuses on the results that you want. The big question is - do you actually believe it?

You see, if you don't believe that you can reach that goal, then the affirmation isn't necessarily going to produce the results that you want. So if you have been wondering how can I lose weight - my affirmations aren’t working? - your belief that you can actually achieve them may be getting in your way somewhat. If your affirmations and beliefs are different then you are out of alignment and from a law of attraction perspective, this isn't going to be so effective.

So what changes can you make to create affirmations that work for you? – they just need to remain positive but more believable for example:

I am so happy and grateful now that....

  • I am in the process of making positive changes in my body
  • I am finding it easy to eat when I am hungry and stop when I am full
  • I am enjoying moving my body every day
  • every day I can feel my body getting slimmer and slimmer

You get the idea - the key is to write out several until you find the ones that work the best for you. Now some people might argue that these are not totally in the present tense and not as specific as the first goal but I say that as long as they are putting you in a positive mind-set and bringing you into alignment with the results that you desire then they will be effective for you. Of course - if in your mind you sincerely believe that you can achieve a size 6, then continue with the more specific affirmation - as long as it works for you.

So for those of you who have been asking how can I lose weight? and not getting much success from affirmations so far, I hope these tips really help you learn how to become slim naturally by getting your mind-set in alignment with the results you desire. Once you find some great affirmations that work for you, making the commitment to say them or write them daily will soon get you on the right road to success.
