Flat Belly

Flat belly myths would have you believe that there is one secret exercise that will magically reduce your belly fat showing off your six pack abs.

Spot reduction is one of the biggest myth going today. Burning belly fat is not like building muscle. When you train your arms with weights your biceps and triceps will grow this is called spot training. But doing stomach crunches after stomach crunches will not shrink your waistline.

Your body simply doesn’t work that way, when you exercise, your body burns fat from all over your body. No flat belly exercise has the ability to target a single area of the body.

There are three main components to effective fat loss. The first one is possibly the most overlooked when trying to lose weight, especially by women. But it is a very effective way to reach your goal, it’s resistance training in the form of full body movements.

Isolation exercises like ab crunches are actually less effective that bodyweight squats when it comes to burning fat. When you do exercises like the push-up, squats and mountain climbers, you train more muscle in less time. They also have a metabolism boosting effect burning more calories than spending 30 minutes on your abs alone.

The seconds involves doing your cardio in a different way. They’re called cardio intervals and they have been proven to be more effective than long slow steady cardio. Their basically a way of combining high intensity cycles and using a lower intensity cycles as recuperation. Combining resistance training with cardio intervals is the fastest way to develop a lean Flat Belly.

The last component is one that most people always cringed when you mention it, nutrition. Notice I said nutrition not diet, there is a difference. A good nutrition plan based on sound principles can actually be easy to follow. Yes I said easy and it should be if not you won’t stick with it. It should include simple things like eating 4 to 6 small meals a day as opposed to 2 or 3 large ones. This alone can stop your in between meal cravings because you won’t be hungry all the time.

Replacing your sugary drinks like sodas with water or at least replacing two of them with water during your day and choosing 100% juices instead of fruit drinks. And reducing your consumption of processed or packaged foods can really lower your caloric intake.

These are just basic strategies for burning your belly fat.
