Low Sugar Snacks

When you consider that sugar is converted into carbohydrates and stored in the body as fat, it makes sense to eat low sugar snacks. If you work a hectic job, or you have an active lifestyle, you know how easy it is to pick up the wrong snack throughout your busy day. Many offices have kitchen or dining facilities for their employees where they offer fatty snacks that are loaded with salt and sugar.

If you want to live a healthy lifestyle, and you are tired of feeling weighed down by the options available at work or in your home, it's time to make a change for the better. I'm not telling you to stop snacking during the day. In fact, eating a healthy snack several times a day helps to ensure that you don't overeat during your regular meals.

Healthy Snack Options

If you really want to eat something sweet, you might want to consider picking up a piece of fruit. Many people on low-carb diets have stopped eating fruits because they don't want the ten to 15 grams of carbohydrates found in most fruits. I find it's better to eat these healthy carbs, than to overload my system with too many proteins and overly processed foods. You need to create a balanced diet that includes at least five fruits and vegetables every day.

If you're really feeling hungry in the afternoon or before lunch, you might want to consider eating a snack with some protein in it. Protein tends to take longer to process in the body, and provides you with the kind of energy you may need to get through the day. As long as you balance out your protein intake with other food options, you won't get bored and want to binge on high sugar items.
