In order to live a long healthy life, it is very important that we try to stay in the best shape as possible, but this is not always the reality. There can be many reasons for putting on ; it could be due to hormones, genetics, diet, lifestyle, or lack of exercise. Whatever the reason it is important to understand just how excess body fat can hurt your health so that you can be fully motivated to shed a few pounds.

When you were younger, you were probably in great shape. You probably remember having a ton of energy and a great body. It was effortless back then, but as you age you need to put more of an effort into maintaining your ideal and energy levels.

It is not uncommon to find that by the time we reach our mid to late twenties we are already beginning to put on and lose energy. The earlier in life that we add excess fatty tissue to our body’s mass the more serious the health consequences will be.

To begin with there is the mental issues related to being over . Today we are constantly bombarded by images of perfectly beautifully men and women that have slim figures. If we are even just a stone heavier than the average for our height we can become very self conscious and develop a low self esteem. It is never nice to be thought of as fat or large. Once your starts to make you feel depressed it can be a slippery slope to get your confidence back.

 

There are other obvious problems that come with being over. You will feel out of breath more quickly and will have a lot less energy. If you try to exercise or do an outdoor activity then it will be more difficult for you at first. The added mass can also cause problems for the joints as there will be a greater that they have to support.

Depending upon how obese you are, you may suffer from sores and chafes as the excess skin can rub together and cause irritation. This will result in you having to use ointments and lotions to bring relief from the discomfort. In the folds of skin it is also possible to develop bacterial and fungal infections as the body will contain a greater amount of waste products and toxins that need to be removed.

But there are certain healths problems associated with excess that can be severe or even deadly. It is known that people who are obese are more likely to suffer from heart disease. This is due to the greater stress the heart is under and also the arteries of an individual who is over are likely to be more hardened and clogged. The chances of having a heart attack or stroke are massively increased if you are over.

In addition to heart problems, studies are now finding that excess can contribute to a myriad of illness including diabetes, gall bladder disease, gout, osteoarthritis, sleep apnea and fatty liver disease.
