burning off alcohol

Question
Can the body burn off alcohol with exercise? Some say no and some say yes. Those who say no claim that it cannot be burnt off and is bound to be stored in the lever, which will take its own time to metabolize it(with time) no matter how hard one exercises. If yes, can I take 3-4 drinks daily and hope burn it off with a half an hour walk? Since I'm into body building, but also also an alcoholic addict, this is an important question for me.

Answer
Hi RJ,

This is a very important question to me, too.

I read you have a complex and multiplex problem.
Your question is the wrong question.
You should be asking how you can build up your body, mind and soul in the healthiest possible way.

You are dissing your life with the question you are asking.

A couple of drinks a day will not kill you. It's not about where it goes it's about why you have it. We eat to live. We don't live to eat. Likewise with alcohol. Are you drinking to live (a nicer life)? Because it sure can't make you a healthier (better built) person.
I am not about to address your alcohol addiction which is rooted in soulful issues. I am going to try and get you to be honest to yourself. Burning things off is like bringing water to the sea. The sea doesn't mind, but also doesn't care.

Start caring about what you do, think, want. Whenever alcohol is involved you tend to forget to care. The main reason one drinks....

The calorific intake of alcohol gets burned off by exercise: so the sugars (only other nutritional ingredient of alcohol) won't make you fat: in THEORY. However, alcohol is sneaky, and you are asking an Anthroposophic here after all! The alcohol does something else in the meantime, it gives you a false identity on a very fundamental level. It's "imprintation" effects your liver (and whole blood sugar level, which creates the addiction in the first place) and not to forget your feel good factor (the brain/consciousness). You begin to live a life OFF the brain, not for the benefit of the brain. The brain being much like a bowl of ricepudding, you are pulling the short straw without some high calibre input (which I call a besouled meaningful life).

"In vino veritas est" is a Roman adage which translates: in wine there is truth: meaning you blab when drunk. But it also reveals that the unrefined, UNBUILT you emerges; the so called animal self. If you really want to build yourself up body, mind and soul, think about nutrition in sunny, rosy, vibrant terms. Compare this to why you drink.

Alcohol is void of nutrients, aside the sugars which translate into  fattening calories; but it is also full of chemicals (usually) and the alcohol itself has a PROFOUND effect on your Self. In practical tems it corrupts your metabolism - depleting you of vitamins/minerals. I am not going to give you horror stories of deteriorations of the brain, muscle, bone (teeth!), skin first and foremost, if you drink that much that regularly (about two drinks too many a day if I am VERY lenient, depending on the type of drink... high quality red wine and beer (to a lesser degree) hurts less than others). I am going to say:
R.J., in future, ask sensible questions about what you want to achieve and how you are going to achieve it.

Feel free to try and ask me something sensible again.
Take care, now,
Evelyn.
