Question
Hi Geoffrey,
could you please detail the health benefits you have experienced as a result of eating a raw animal diet. I have appreciated the info provided to other questioners.
           Regards

Answer
Hello Philip,

Someone recently asked the very same question you did, so I hope you don't mind if I copy it below for your reading. At the bottom I'll include some more anecdotal info on what others have experienced on this diet.Incidentally, I've been on this all-raw RPD diet for 3 1/2 years so far.

"As regards my own state of health. I feel fantastic. Before going on the diet I was practically dead on my feet:- I had developed over the years chronic fatigue syndrome, acute anxiety, constant bowel problems(eg:- bleeding/constipation), very poor sensitivity towards heat, hyperhydrosis, very bad body-odour(due to milk consumption), a permanently runny nose, constant joint pains, poor wound-healing and bad skin-tone as well as very dark shadows under the eyes. I could barely do sport for more than 10 minutes without collapsing and had endless stomach-aches and very painful cramps in my joints, as well as blurry vision.I experienced a small benefit when I started eating raw, lean muscle-meat but then relapsed almost instantly when I started drinking raw milk(raw dairy intolerance on an RPD diet usually manifests as either constipation or diarhea, blurry vision, permanently runny nose, mucus-coughing, headaches, bloating and/or constant fatigue -I had all these symptoms except constipation).

About 50% of my symptoms disappeared within 4 months of cutting out raw dairy and going for raw organ-meats. After about 2 1/2 years on this RPD diet I was completely healed in all respects. All the previous symptoms I mentioned  had gone.
My body-odour is not only much less than before, it's better than the average cooked-food eater(half as bad, I would say). I have experienced some increased firm muscle-tone all over my body as well(this is irrespective of whether I exercise or not), though nowhere near the level of a body-builder(!), despite Aajonus' claims. What's particularly noticeable is that my endurance has increased dramatically(much more so than most other people). I've always loved hiking in the mountains in the holidays and I've noticed that I can walk for much longer now even with a very heavy rucksack on my back, even when I haven't been doing any strenuous physical exercise for months beforehand. Previously, before the RPD diet, I would have had to rest every 10-15 minutes to carry on walking. I can also swim for hours at a time without becoming too tired. This capacity for increased endurance seems to improving the longer I am on this diet, and is what I'm most proud of.I'm definitely much fitter in this regard than most of the population.
I wouldn't say that my senses have been improved significantly on this diet, except that my eyes became less strained and bloodshot  when I got rid of raw dairy. I do know of one man, though, who has claimed that he threw away his glasses after doing just the Primal Diet for a few years. I myself am practising the Bates Method in order to improve my eyesight and have improved by a 1/4 of a diopter or so, so far(I used to be -2.5 in each eye). From other personal acounts, the RPD diet does seem to improve the speed and success-rate of the Bates Method(Indeed there's now a current theory that grain-products are a major cause behind poor eyesight).

I no longer have bags under my eyes and I no longer have the massive potbelly I used to have either. I'm also not as tired in the middle of the day as others. In the beginning of the diet, I still had very poor circulation and this caused problems during skiing in cold weather as I couldn't eat hot soup or drink tea or coffee etc. My solution was to just drink hot water without putting the obligatory tea-bag in. The water wasn't much changed by the heat so that was fine. I've noticed that my tolerance towards heat and especially the cold has increased every year on this diet. Some RPDers claim that it can take at least 3-5 years to adapt to wider temperature extremes.

My looks have improved considerably as well, largely as a result of improved skin-tone. A large number of people have made some very positive remarks about my improved appearance in the last couple of years.

I find it easier to shave as my facial hair seems a lot less tough than before. My wounds heal much faster, without leaving the usual, former scabs, and my permanently torn and blackened big-toe-nail on my right foot healed finally after 3 years on this RPD diet. I also used to get easily sunburnt but this problem seems to have become much les of a problem, as of last summer.
I also need to sleep much less than the average person. I usually sleep for about 6 hours a night for 5 nights a week, and then sleep 7-8 hours a night during the weekends, without incurring fatigue. I've only managed this, though, in the last 6 months or so on a regular basis. Oh, and my concentration and memory have improved remarkably as well.
All in all I would say that my health still has some way to go as my irises seem to have cleared up only halfway, so my body still needs to get rid of some more toxins. However, I am extremely fit and no longer have any health problems. I find, though, that diet alone is not the answer, and that vigorous exercise (preferably outdoors in the sun),combined with an RPD diet, is the best way -  (Unfortunately, up till now I have been a bit too lazy, and need to practice what I preach!)"

As I'm only 32 I can't state for certain if an RPD diet gets rid of any problems of old age - at least not for another 20 years or so. I've heard of numerous accounts on the Raw Palaeolithic Diet Yahoo! Groups, where middle-aged and older people have stated that their skin-tone has improved so that they look 10-15 years younger. They also say that the onset of grey hair is delayed, and other general old-age problems such as arthritis are reduced dramatically.
Other RPDers have claimed excellent results for cancer, and this (all-raw)diet is reportedly extremely useful for digestive disorders and general debilitative disorders such as Diabetes.

Hope This Helps
