Hard Liquor vs. beer

Question
William
About a month ago I switched from drinking rum and diet coke to beer.
I am probably drinking more now if you add up the calories.
I have noticed that my belly doenst bloat up now like it used to after I have a few too many.
Last time I went low glycemic my drink of choice was rum, and my progress was slower than it is now with beer.
I know you are not a doctor, and I shouldnt be drinking at all,  but is beer a healthier drink for weight loss?

Answer
Hi

Not being an M.D. I cannot properly address your question regarding "is beer a healthier drink for weight loss?" because of the difficulty in defining the term "healthier"; that would actually vary from person to person according to genetic makeup, physical condition, etc.

I have summed up what I feel I can say (from my own research) on my web page regarding the glycemic impact of beer and other alcoholic beverages.

I hope reading that may be helpful.
