Weight Loss Help

Question
I am a 28 female.  I weigh 193 pounds.  I started going to the gym in January.  I go 4 to 5 days a week and have cut my calories to about 1200 (or less) per day.  I alternate every other day with 40 minutes of cardio one day, and 1 hour of weights the next.  (I worked with a personal trainer for about 2 weeks to get myself to use the machines correctly and work on a diet plan.)I'm sure that my body is turning the fat into muscle and such, but I haven't lost a pound yet.  Nor has my body become trimmer or leaner.  Every piece of clothing feels exactly the same as when I started.  I even stopped taking birth control pills in hopes of giving my metabolism a boost.  I do take 40mg of Celexa daily for anxiety and depression.  I am also a vegetarian.  However, I do eat dairy and fish occasionally.  I am getting very frustrated with the lack of results, especially considering the huge effort that I am putting forth here.  Do you have any idea what is going on with my body?  Do you have any tips to jump start the weight loss?  I would even go back to eating meat if I thought the Atkins diet would work.  Right now, I am getting very depressed and am losing any motivation to keep this program going.  Do you have any ideas as to what the problem could be? Just so you have an idea of what my daily caloric intake is, here is a normal day of my eating:
8AM breakfast: oatmeal, or soy bar or power bar
10AM snack - if I have anything, it's a yogurt
1PM lunch - veggie sandwich or a salad with lowfat dressing
4PM snack - if anything, it's yogurt of fruit
7PM dinner - veggies and red sauce, or a veggie burger on a whole wheat bun and some fries (not many)
9PM snack - fat free ice cream sandwich

Again this is the most I would eat in one day, and most of the time, it's just breakfast, lunch, dinner and 1 snack.  Any ideas?  I really need your help and appreciate your time.  Thank you.

Answer
Hi Dani,

I see from your information that you really do have a low-calorie diet.  Did you know that most antidepressants have a side effect of weight gain?  Unfortunately this is true.  Celexa has a side effect of weight gain.  It sounds like this is your problem.  You will have to discuss with your physician alternatives to Celexa (if that is what you decide to do).

Best Regards,

Helen
