Medicines working right together

Question
I have siezer's. I have been having problem with
hair loss for about 5 years.  I read that a
mixture of siezer medicine cause's hair loss.
I am trying to find out:
If a certain 2 taken together cause this
If just 1 causes this, this way I could try to
take another perscription to take it's place.

I take Daily:
4000mg KEPPRA
  3mg ATIVAN
950mg LAMICTAL

Would you recomend a vitamin?
Thank you
Susan

Answer
Dapakene (valproic acid) is more associated with hair loss. Neither Keppra, Ativan, or Lamictal by themselves have a reported side effect of hair loss. You may want to look more towards how those medications may have altered your lifestyle (diet, exercise). Deficiencies of vitamins and minerals may cause a hair loss. Some medications can cause poor absorption of some vitamins and minerals. Taking a daily multi-vitamin may be elpful. However, you should probably consult with your neurologist on that since they are more qualified to tell you what may or may not interact with your current medications.
