Question
what are sone reasons why a well-balanced diet is healthier and more effectice than a low-carb diet?

Answer
Any diet, low carb, low fat, no sugar, whatever...that attempts to eliminate any one or more food groups (or strictly limit them) will not work.  The low carb diet has been around since at least the early 1960's (it's had many different names) and since then, the population has grown at a rate never before found in history.  We are more obese than ever.  If the 'diets' and products pushed throughout the last 50 years actually worked, no one would be overweight (or at least very, very few would be).

Low carb diets restrict fruits and vegetables which are necessary for our digestive systems.  Many low carb dieters need laxatives and there's indication that such diets (people who eat a lot of meat) tend to have higher incidents of diverticulitis/diverticulosis, colon cancer and esophogeal reflux disorder (there are websites dedicated to support groups for each of these).

A well balanced diet is as necessary to efficient running of the human body and metabolism as putting more than just gas in a car is necessary for the automobile.  It needs water, oil and lubricants right?

Take a look at my site to find out more and HOW to eat right; plus why fats can make you thinner and how all the other diets out there work, or don't work.
