Eating healthier made more simple

Question
Hi there-
(Sorry this is long!)My name is Katy and I am 26 yrs old, I am almost 5'4 and weigh 128 lbs. I recently lost about 20 lbs over the last year and I don't really know how,b/c I didnt exercise. Anyway, I recently got a treadmill and am trying to lose the final 10-15 lbs I want to. I have been eating better (i.e.no fast food & rarely dining out at all, nothing fried, lots of fruit etc.) I have been working out 6 days a week on treadmill for 45 mins as well as strength training (diff body section ea day) for 2 weeks and haven't lost a thing. I drink about 70-80 oz of water a day. I understand it all comes down to you must burn off more than you take in.I know this comes down to food and nutrition for me.I need help. There are SO MANY books and recipes and dos and donts I am so confused about what to eat and actually be FULL so I don't eat junk that not only makes me fat but makes me feel physically bad.I don't like a lot of vegetables that's a problem. I eat fruit but I don't know of any "meals" that are low cal/good for me and inexpensive.I know how to cook but it's all fatty stuff. So basically this very long question comes down to this, how do you get all those servings of veg and fruit and whole grains and protein into your diet easily, healthfully and without breaking the bank? I just need something simple. I am just so confused by all the diff diets and things magazines say, I just need to know what to eat and be full, and still lose and then maintain my weight. Again. I am SORRY this is so long, and I very much appreciate your time and consideration in this matter. Hopefully I wasn't too confusing.

Answer
Hi Katy,

Scrap the notion about calories eaten/calories burned, it is not that simple about how it works. You may be in Famine Mode - metabolism lowered from eating too little, working out a lot, or building muscle, that are heavy. Or getting worked up about not losing CAN lower one's metabolism. First, relax, humans are designed to eat food on this planet, the dead forrest of books around are just getting in our way.
