lipids

Question
I'm taking a nutrition class at school.  We are studing lipids. I'm not sure I understand this subject very well.  I know that lipids are fats in our body that do different things.  I was hoping you could explain it to me in a more simple version so I can at least grasp this..Thankyou for you time.

Answer
Rebecca,

I really don't like trying to explain such a potentially broad topic to someone taking a class.  Your teacher may be looking for a certain understanding or definition and I may take you in a different direction.

You said, "I know that lipids are fats in our body that do different things." I don't know how to put it any more simply.

You could ask your teacher for a little more help in understanding...that's what they are there for.

Or you may want to go to Google and do a search for "lipids".

Best wishes.

Todd
