Question
what is the difference between bulimia nad anorexia?
thanks

Answer
Bulimics are usually not anorexic; however, anorexics are frequently some type of bulimic.
There are several kinds/forms of bulimia, only one of which involves "purging" by vomiting, but this seems to be the most well known type.
Bulimics are usually of normal, or over weight.

Anorexics begin cutting down on food until they have virtually no food intake and their body begins eating itself.  Muscle, bone and organ tissue start to be converted to energy (and even fat) in order to maintain life, but if not stopped, anorexia kills nearly 100%.  Of those who live/recover, many times the organ and bone damage is permanent, and can shorten a lifespan or cause severe complications as years go by (bone deterioration, heart problems, kidney and liver damage, etc).

BOTH bulimia and anorexia are psychological disorders first and eating disorders second.  In either case, it's a mental illness and needs addressing from a psychological source.

These people (of which I am BOTH) have deep issues that often begin in childhood and feel such lack of control that food becomes their medication, weapon and so on.

Check my site for really detailed explainations of both of these disorders and what various treatments are, signs/symptoms, typical age groups and lots more.
