Facts about honey and more

Question
Dear Heinen,

Is it true that honey doesn't make you gain more weight?

Is it true that honey doesn't get spoiled?

If true, why?

I changed my meal pattern (I don't eat rice after lunch). I loss 4 kgs, now I am 81 kgs but I can't loss more. What can I do?

I am a programmer, so I don't move my body much. I don't like sport. I walk about 20 minutes a day from house to bus station and vice versa. I live in Indonesia.

Sincerely,
Frans Indroyono

Answer
Hi Frans
Honey is fructose. Which is a type of sugar. Its harder to break down than other sugars so it goes into the blood stream slower which makes it healthier...but you can gain weight from eating too much

Honey won't spoil if kept in a sealed container. This is because of the high sugar content. More information can be found at http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/askasci/gen01/gen01338.htm

When you reach a plateau, exercise is what usually makes the difference.
