I am 14 years old and I have a really bad problem. I've always loved to eat, especially chocolate and cake and crisps. But for the last 6 months or so, I've been gaining weight because i can't stop eating. I used to have cereal for breakfast, sandwiches crisps and chocolate bar for lunch and a cooked meal cake and chocolate for dinner but now i snack in between as well. I cant help it and i always end up having an extra slice of cake and more chocolate in between meals. Luckily i'm not fat yet but i know it's really bad for my health too but i just cant stop eating. What can i do?
You need to work on that willpower a bit! If you eat a healthier, more well-balanced diet throughout the day your cravings for the sweets will probably let up.
You need to include all of the food groups each day and eat healthier foods at meals. Include fruits, vegetables, lean meats, starches (especially from whole grains), and low-fat or fat-free dairy products.
Good nutrition at your age is so very important! It is what ensures that you develop properly! So start to concentrate more on healthier foods and save the chocolate and other treats for ONCE a day. Don't skip meals and make sure you eat 3 balanced meals with HEALTHY snacks in between! Drinks lots of water and when you have urges to eat the sweets re-direct yourself! Go outside and take a walk, call a friend, etc... Tell yourself you can only have one sweet a day and plan when you will have it. After that, no more for the day till the next day!! It is important to take care of this bad habit before it DOES become a problem!!
