sugar v. protien

Question
I read that excess refined sugar is converted to fat, and increases bodyfat. But what about

1. sugar from fruits
2. other carbohydrates
3. protein

Are these 3 things not converted to fat? Are they just used as energy, or stored as carbs/protein? Will they not increase bodyfat like refined sugars do?

Thanks.

Answer
Any food in excess, including sugar, complex carbs, fat, and protein is converted and stored as fat IF you eat too much and don't burn it off.
So, YES all of them contribute to body fat if consumed in excess!!
