Low-Carbs

Question
I hear all the time about "low carb" diets. What foods would you recommend for a low carb diet and which would you stay away from? Maybe 4 or 5 of each? Thanks!

Answer
While I don't promote the low-carb lifestyle, I can offer some suggestions of foods that are generally low in carbohydrates...

Meat (if you are going to load up on these then you might try to find the lean cuts and ground beef, etc instead of the fatty ones)
Fish
Poultry
cheeses (virtually any kind will work)
milk
veggies such as brocolli, leafy green veggies

Foods that you should stay away from:
breads
pastas
chips/crackers/cookies
candy
fruit (including tomatoes)
pastries
potatoes
corn
