Calories needed to lose weight

Question
Hi,

I am 25 year old female.  I weight about 305 pounds and have been on one failed diet after another.  I have finally committed to start eating a more nutritionally sound diet.  I am so confused about all of the infromation out there.  I want to know how many calories do I need to lose weight without slowing down my metabolism.  Whenever I fill out a form online, it tells me I need to eat 3000 calories!  Also, for example, are 4 slices of whole grain bread a day too much to lose weight?  How much protein/carbs/fat do I need a day?
Thanks

Answer
To figure out how many calories you would need and suggest a plan I would need to know quite a bit more information and would need to be working with you one-on-one!  When online forms give you calories that is usually for maintenance NOT for weight loss.  In addition because you are overweight, when you plug your current weight in it is going to give you more calories than you really need.  I can't say if 4 slices of whole grain bread are too much or not because it would depend on your calorie needs and your weight loss plan.  That includes figuring our protein, carb and fat.  That is very individualized and not the same for all people!
I DO offer online weight loss services if that is something you might be interested in.  You can check out my web site at www.Nutrifocus.net.
