Question
I'm a 29 year old active male who watches what he eats but I'd like to lose 20 pounds this season.  I always drink milk and juice every morning with a bowl of cereal and some multivitamins.  For lunch, I eat a salad or a subway sandwich, no mayonaisse or oil, and a Sara Lee bran muffin.  (my only dessert of the day)  For dinner, something light like chicken soup or cottage cheese and fruit or tuna and brown rice.

I also use the treadmill and lift weights.

I don't smoke at all but I do have one vice; I also like to mix a vodka cocktail before dinner.  Though I do drink enough to get a buzz, I consider myself a moderate type; the last time I had a hangover was 3 years ago.

How should I modify my routine in order to meet my goal?  I thank you for your help.

Answer
Hello Augusto!

Thank you for your nutrition question.  If you really want to rev up your metabolism and burn calories try eating 4-5 small meals per day rather then 3.

You may want to switch from drinking juice in the morning to tea. Many juices are high in sugar.

Also instead of regular cereal try oatmeal with fresh fruit. Oatmeal is lower in calories and a healthier choice.

In addition, low fat yogurt with granola is a great choice for a snack.

Other then that it sounds like you have a good routine going.  There is a great supplement on my website http://www.juiceblend.com which can really help your body burn calories more effectively and help you lose the last 20lbs.  Let me know if you have more questions.
