deficiency of salt

Question
I would like to know if a deficiency of salt (chloride and sodium) can cause tightening of the throat and respiratory difficulty?

I ask this question because i stopped to eat salt for 3 months because of my gastritis and the pain caused by the salt on my stomac.I started again to eat salt since 10 days but now i have some faintnesses.

Answer
Martin,
This is a better question for your doctor.  If you are having some faintness you should contact your doctor immediately!  I am not sure if a sodium deficiency can cause the symptoms you are explaining but it can be dangerous to cut salt completely out of your diet.  You do need SOME salt for normal function of the body and for maintenance of fluid balance.
