I want to loose weight fast, but forget it took me a long time to get like this..Im also scared because Im probably going to need re-constructive surgery for a torn acl in my knee I dont suspect this happening for a few months however if I start something Im scared it will come to a hault when this happens and Ill be discouraged and fall back to old habits..another thing is my knee is in so much pain when I walk due a 10 yr injury(torn ACL) that I now have arthritis and excersising is painful and I worrie I can pop my knee out since I have done that in the past..I dont have diabetes yet, but my father does and Im scared of that..Im very very lazy thats a huge problem of mine I need to break that I need to find something a way of eating that works for me.I hate drinking water and its hard to drink 8 glasses per day besides that my job is talking on the phone and its not easy to get up all the time to use the bathroom when I have back to back calls..I also love my coffee in the morning and have it with a lot of sugar I only drink one cup taking away that cup is a nightamre and trying splenda is gross..Any suggestions would help about now..Shannon

Answer
Shannon,
My suggestion is to forget about the "quick fixes"!  Water pills will NOT help you to lose the weight you need!  Weight Watchers may help for awhile but really does not have the one-on-one support you need and does not teach permanent lifestyle change!  That is what it is all about.  Making changes for life!  My suggestion is to see a dietitian one-on-one!  A dietitian can help to teach you step by step how to lose the weight, give you individual support and motivation, teach you how to keep the weight off and work with your individual problems and concerns!  You need to do something NOW.  The more you put it off the worse the problem will become.
I suggest you ask your doctor for a referral and call your insurance company to find out what is covered when visiting a dietitian.  You can also find a dietitian in your area by visiting www.eatright.org.  You can plug in your zip code and find a list of dietitians to contact in your area.
