maintaining my weight?

Question
Hello, I've been exercising and hour a day for 5 days a week, and I've almost reached my goal weight. I'm wondering, how do I maintain that weight once I've reached it. I want to be able to increase my calories, but I know you can't make any drastic changes. I eat about 1400-1500 calories a day now, how much do you reccommend I increase it by, do I also have to increase exercise? Thanks for any advice.

Answer
Andrea,
Congratulations on reaching your goal weight. To maintain, I would continue the exercise and add, on average 250 calories per day. If you are still losing weight with the additional 250 calories, the add another 250 per day. It should level out and you should be able to maintain your weight by eating healthy foods when you are hungry. Laura Kraemer,Slimkids.com
