Question
Ok, I checked my scale today, and it said  138.0 but, i had eaten breakfast about an hour and a half to 2 hours before.. And I checked it later, (couple hours) and it said 136.7. Hi Kimberly, my name is Paris. I am 16 years old and my height it 5'7. Our weight scale is very old, and questionable, but it has recently said I am anywhere between 131-134 pounds. I am aware that for my age and height this is a safe, and healthy weight. I would however, like to lose the fat on my lower stomach, thighs, and behind (where any women would like to lose fat, haha). I know that the most effective way to do that is to work out. I would like to know how many calories I should consume, and how many calories I should try to work off. I drink mostly water, with the occasional Dr. Pepper, and snacks every now and then. I work-out by dancing, and doing housework, and the occasional Tye-Boe. And I walk to my friends' house. A couple weeks ago my scale (kinda broken) said that I was 134 pounds, and today, it read 131 pounds. I would like to lose about 6 pounds if that is possible. Thank you for your time, and effort.

Paris.

Paris,
At 16 years of age you should not be worrying about calories!  The worst thing you can do is eat too little!  Your body is still developing and you need those calories to help do that properly.  Just be as active as you can on a daily basis and continue with a healthy diet.  Eat from all of the food groups daily: fruits, veggies, lean meats, starches (at least half from whole grains), and low-fat or fat-free dairy products.  Leave sweets and high fat/high calorie foods for the occassional treat and continue to drink your water.  Watch your portion sizes and eat till you are comfortable and not stuffed.  Eat at least 3 meals a day with some healthy snacks in between.

Answer
Careful of relying on the scale to heavily.  Scales are not always perfect and differ in how they work from scale to scale!  Your body retains fluids throughout the day so you will NOT weigh the same exact weight all day long.  You should stick to weighing yourself only ONCE per WEEK!  Always weigh yourself on the SAME scale and at the same time of day.  A better predictor of success is measurements and/or body fat percentage.
