Pediasure Vs Whole milk

Question
Hi George
Thank you for your answer. But my point is whether Pediasure is way better than whole milk, which provides calcium, Vit D, and protein as well; although not much iron or phosphorus. Can she maintain healthy growth with whole milk and a little bit of everything?

Hi George
I have a 5 years old daughter whole is underweight (32 lb - below 5% percentile). She is a picky eater. She drinks 12-16 oz of whole milk per day. When she does not eat, my wife gives her Pediasure. I doubt if it is worth to buy it as we give her multivitamin to eat everyday already. Please advise if Pediasure is more nutritional.

Hello Kevin!

Thank you for your nutrition question.  Multivitamins can sometimes be absorbed poorly by the body because they are a fragmented source of nutrients. Pediasure would be a better choice since it a more natural way of getting nutrients.  PediaSure meets a child's requirements for calcium, phosphorus, vitamin D and iron.
I also recommend another product called Juice Plus Gummies which are made from fresh fruits and vegetables.  Often times children do not eat enough of fruits and vegetables in their diet which are needed for healthy development.   The website to purchase the Juice Plus gummies is http://www.juiceblend.com  Let me know if you have more questions.

Answer
Dear Kevin,

Thank you for the follow up question. Your daughter can maintain healthy growth while drinking milk and  eating a variety of foods.
However, if you believe your  child's diet isn't providing adequate amounts of the right nutrition from regular food, pediaSure can help. Every can  has balanced amounts of the nutrients recommended for growing kids. Pediasure contains more nutrients that regular whole milk also.

Hope this helps.
