weight loss/diet/exercise

Question
My history= I am a large-framed 36 year-old female, 170 lbs. I have been running for 3 years- ~20 miles/week. Strength training w/ weights at least 1 day/week. I am a very conscious eater- 6-7 fruits/veggies per day, lean meats, whole grains, no fried or processed food. I average 2500-2800 cals/day. I have tried eating less calories but I get REALLY tired if I eat below 2400 cals/day. I want to lose some weight (I would like to be at about 155 lbs or so) but do not believe in any "fad" diets and will not go those routes. Do I need to up my exercise more? Also, I've heard that it's possible I'm not eating enough, though I find that hard to believe. Any insight?
Thanks for your help!

Answer
Hi Susan!

Thank you for your nutrition question.  I a going to give you a couple of websites that will point you in the right direction toward your weight loss goals.
Firstly,  I would recommend that you visit www.mypyramid.gov and enter your physical information in order to receive your daily calorie intake.  Once you get this number you should subtract 500 calories daily in order to lose 1 pound per week.  You might be eating too many calories even though it sounds like you eat quite healthy.  You can actually create the ideal meal plan at the www.mypyramid.gov website.
Another recommendation I would make for the tiredness because of too few calories, is try eating small frequent meals throughout your day. Instead of 3 meals daily try eating 4 mini meals. This will also help to rev up your metabolism(rate which you burn calories).
It sounds like you have an excellent exercise routine going so I would not change that.  However,  you may need a good supplement to help your body burn calories more efficiently. Checkout a product on my website called Juice Plus. The address for it is www.juiceblend.com

Hope this helps.
