Dear sir/madam;I am swimmer,I...

Question
Dear sir/madam;

I am swimmer,I want to know if it is good if I used protein powder(whey) for supplying protein form my body.
does it have any side effects.

Best regards
Amir

Answer
Amir,
In my opinion, you don't need protein powder.  A good healthy and well-balanced diet should provide all of the protein that you need.  Including plenty of foods such as lean meats, fish, beans, nuts, and low-fat or fat-free dairy products will ensure you receive enough protein.  To know how much to eat of each food group for your age and activity level check out www.mypyramid.gov.
Yes, too much protein can have side effects.  Too much protein over long periods of time can overload the kidney's, making them work harder.  It may also lead to some calcium loss.
