Question
Hi I am a 31 year old physical education teacher.  I keep myself in good shape.  I do cardio 3 times a week and play full court basketball in a league one other time.  I also lift 5 days a week.  I have a couple questions.  I am thinking of starting to take a protein supplement such as a powder.  Do you recommend this?  What brands to you think are the best?  And does it really help.  Also do you have any information on ZMA.  I have read about it and I was just wondering what you may know about it.  Thanks alot!  Hope to hear from you soon!

Answer
Hello Brian!

Thank you for your nutrition question. There is not enough research to back up ZMA so use it with caution. You have to be very careful when choosing supplements because some brands are more effective then others.  However, there are some great products on my website www.juiceblend.com including a protein powder called "Complete" which is recommended also by Jack Medina who is a strength conditioning coach for the NFL. The "Complete" protein powder has all the nutrients needed for body building.  The other product I recommend for weightlifting is Juice PLUS which is made from 17 different fruits and vegetables.  It can help boost your energy during your workout which will result in being able to lift more weight. Many of my athletes are seeing great results with Juice Plus and the Complete protein powder.   Let me know if you have more questions.
