Fruit Diets

Question
I have a few questions on fruit diets. Is there such a thing as fruit diets and do they work. Also is there such a diet that revolves around eating a regular meal one day then only fruit the next thus cutting your calorie intake in half.

I need to find some kind of diet that works for me, as I don't have a lot of time to exercise. I can do the Atkins, but it's hard to do without some of my more favorite foods. Just thought if I could teeter between eating regular food one day and fruit the next, maybe this would work.

Thank you,

Robert

Answer
Hello Robert!

Thank you for your nutrition question.  Fruit diets do exist however, they are very restricting.  I would recommend that you go to www.mypyramid.gov where you can create an eating plan specifically for your calorie needs and tastes.  When you get to the site simply enter your age, gender, and activity level and it will give you an healthy eating plan, menu, and serving sizes.
The website also has a tracking section where you can enter your food choices and it will evaluate how you are doing. This website is a great resource!
