Low Fat Diet to shift the pounds!

Question
Dear Reverend Abbott

Hi
I was wondering if you can help be. I am aiming to lose half a stone by my wedding at the end of July. I am find ing it very hard. I have read in a lot of literarture that in essence I should cut my calorie intake to lose weight, however I find this difficult due to my lifestyle and am wondering if I will still be able to lose weight if I consume the same amount of calories per day but cut my fat intake right down to the lowest amount possible say to 15g/day?as this will allow me then to have the snacks/food all of which would be very low fat?

I hope you can help and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Answer
Congratulations on your wedding!  Your husband-to-be loves you JUST THE WAY YOU ARE, so losing weight for a single day isn't what you need to do. It only adds to the stress and confusion that leads up to that day.

Eating healthy and keeping a healthy eating plan forever is what you need to establish so you both live long and good lives, seeing each other into old age!

Your fat intake, in any case, should be between 15 and 30% of your total calorie intake; and ideally, should NOT come predominantly from animal sources.

Exercise is as simple as taking a couple of 10-15 minute brisk walks a day, parking as far from entrances to buildings as possible (getting extra steps in that way) and not being so efficient in making trips (make two or three trips to the kitchen - or laundry - etc rather than just one).

DANCE! When you hear a song you like, don't make excuses, get up and dance! Even if it's just for a minute! It counts!

Check my site for more about how to eat right - and NOT diet. Healthy eating also may contribute to less stress, which is what you need right now
