Question
Hello,
Im 17 years old. I've wanted to loose weight for so long. Before i tried excercise but i loose the drive and effort after a couple days. So after on and off of that for what seems like years im tired of it. So, about 2 weeks ago i started telling myself im not going to eat for a couple days loose 10lbs and thatll give me the motivation to excerside and keep loosing weight the healthy way. well sense the 2 weeks about 75% of the days when i follow through i just dont eat then get these huge craving at night and i just eat crazy. i know this isnt the healthy way to do it but i was wondering if you could tell me (even though its not healthy) if this short term method would make me loose weight for not eating all day or if it would cause me to gain weight for the mass night cravings. I was also wondering if you have any advise?

Thanks so much and i hope to hear from you soon!

Jon

Answer
Hi Jon,

Whoa. FAT is what sustains life when you are starving. When you don't eat enough, your insides has no idea that there is lots of food around, only what is (not) coming in. When you don't eat enough, you go into famine mod and convert a lot to fat. So eat already, BUT eat good stuff. When you focus on the quality of what you put in, the quantity takes care of itself and you don't overeat, and so on. This quicky crap is a way to lose WATER, not fat, and louse up your appetite for a long time.
