Hi, Iam a 40 yr old married male ht 185cms wt 71 kgs ,waist 36 in. Iam trying to reduce my waistline . My breakfeast consists of a bowl of museli with low fat milk,brown bread and magarine butter (high in polusaturates), light lunch an afternoon snack (low fat yougurt) and an equally light dinner with a glass of red wine or a measure of whiskey or a beer. I jog about 20 min 4 times a week. Inspite of all this i cannot seem to get that waistline down. I read somewhere that trans fat migrates to the abdomen and does not reduce even if u diet.
1. Is that true?
2. If true what should i do to get rid of this trans fat ( if i have it) ? Thanks

Trans fats are fats found in foods and can raise both cholesterol levels and triglyceride (fat) levels in the blood.  As far as fat in the abdomen, that is just stored fat.  Aerobic exercise such as jogging can help. You may want to try stretching that 20 min. out a bit longer or trying to get in more than 4 times a week.  I really can't say if your diet is contributing without knowing more detail about your dietary intake.  Alcohol can defintely add to stored fat in the abdominal area!!
