I need to lose weight

Question
I have tried so many different ways to try to lose weight.  I am a college student and I am trying to lose weight.  I am not anorexic but I have tried everything from that to only buying health foods.  I don't know how to do it and especially how to do it as a student with a budget.  Any advice you could give would help a ton.  I need to lose 20-30 pounds and hope to have it off by Christmas so I can feel good about myself around the holidays when I will see friends and family.  Thanks

Answer
Hi Erica,

First thing, don't go around hungry, it will only lower your metabolism. I eat a lot of fresh produce and carry raw walnuts around. As much as you can, go for whole grains, no refined sugar or flour, plain water, and food that is only cooked once. Empty food will keep you hungry, and eating. Picture yourself, realistically, as the way you want to be. Your thoughts and visions are as strong as your genes.
