lower blood pressure

Question
Hi,
Glad to meet you--i am a Christian school teacher. I redently had a popped blood vessel in my eye and it seems to be healing nicely now. But I was told it might have occured because of high blood pressure-- last time i checked it, it was borderline on being too high. (at the machine at Wal mart) So I think this might be a wakeup call to get serious about losing weight and lowering my blood pressure before something more serious happens. Do you have any advice or counsel for me?

Answer
Good for you! Some of the most enjoyable aspects of getting healthy may surprise you - like eating! Regularly.

Whole grains aren't as awful as people think, especially when you consider that flavored oatmeal a health food. Or Life cereal? Toasted oat flakes! Raisin Bran and frosted shredded wheat too. There's so many!

Peanut butter is good for you too and there's no reason you can't have ice cream, chocolate and whatever else you like.
