Weight loss based on starting weight?

Question
Hi,
Would losing 20 pounds be easier/quicker for someone who has 20 lbs to
lose, or someone who has 50 lbs to lose?

Thanks in advance!

Answer
Hi Joe,

In general, it is harder to lose weight the closer you are to your "ideal" weight; so generally the last 10 lbs or so can be the most difficult for many people. However, there is a vast variation in individual metabolisms, so there are some people who simply lose weight much more easily than others do. So, if the person who has 20 lbs to lose is one of the lucky ones who loses weight more easily, and the person with 50 lbs to lose finds it extremely difficult to lose weight, then the person with the 20 lbs to lose would still do it more easily.
