Question
Hi, I would like to know how many calories I should be eatting to lose weight. I excersize one hour a day and can't seem to lose any weight.

Answer
You need to find out what your calorie needs are and then subtract 500-1000 calories per day for a 1-2 pound weight loss per week.  However, you should never go below 1200 calories!  So if your maintenance calories come out to 2000 calories you need to eat somewhere around 1200-1400 calories for weight loss.  I can't tell you an exact amount of calories for you because you need information such as height, weight, age, etc...
You need to double check what and how much you are eating.  In addition make sure you are drinking lots of water.  It is helpful in the beginning to jot down exactly what you are eating every day to be sure there are no hidden calories you are not seeing.  Stick with it.  It does take time.
You can check out www.mypyramid.gov to get a better idea of foods to eat and calorie needs.
