Healthy Way of Living

Question
Hello,Im 17 and my weight is 217.6 and Im 5'5 1/2.I have lost weight from being 264,but I put about 15 lbs back on.I would really like to know how to find a good nutrition and excercise for me that I could stick to as a part of a healthy way of living without depriving myself.I know Im obese and its not heathly and Im ready to do something about it.

Answer
Dear Brittney, Keeping to a program is a personal thing. You have to make yourself get up and follow your program everyday. The reason you gained the 15 back is that you went back to your old habits. Make daily walking for at least 30 minutes part of your new ritual. To eat healthy means to eat foods from all food groups. To lose weight, you have to eat about 1500-1800 calories per day. To stick to a healthy eating program, you have to keep track of your calories and keep a running total for the day. To boost your metabolism try lifting weights. Join a gym, the YMCA, or use your schools gym. Good Luck, Laura Kraemer,Slimkids.com
