Question
Hi
I am trying to lose weight.  I do excercise and i wouldnt say im a big eater.  My main vices are milk and cheese- i love them!  I could live off it!
The only problem is- i know they are high in fat and calories.  I now drink semi-skimmed, but even that is quite high in calories.  I have tried low fat cheese- which is disgusting!
Would you advise trying to totally cut them out of my diet?
thanks

Answer
No, you don't need to totally cut them out of your diet.  If you switch to fat-free or skim milk you can drink quite a bit.  As far as cheese, if you are going to stick to the regular cheese you need to really, really cut back.  Have it as a treat instead of on a regular basis.  Weight loss is about what you eat for the entire day.  There is no one food that will help you gain or lose.  So look at your entire diet.  Make sure you are eating from ALL the food groups and in a good balance!  Look at your portion sizes also.  Make sure you are drinking plenty of water and get yourself on a regular exercise schedule.  You have to both eat right and exercise to lose weight!
