Question
Hi, I am twenty pounds from the ideal weight and I am planning to be a fruitarian. I don't want to be a fruitarian just to lose weight but for other reasons as well. I just want to know that if I become one, will I lose weight and if I do, how long will it take for me to lose twenty pounds?

Answer
You will lose weight, because you will be cutting out a large amount of calories. Anytime there is a caloric deficit there is weight loss. How long? well thats going to depend on how your body reacts to the new system of eating, you might lose 10lbs the first week and then nothing for a few weeks. Remember your body's goal is survival, it's not really concerned with you weight loss goals or your eating habits, so it will do what it must to survive. Turn sugar into fat for conserved energy use, feed off itself for protein. As long as it can protect the brain it will do what it must.
Side note if your are exercising then the results will vary even more.
