Question
Dr. Rabitis,
My wife has stage IV colon cancer and we've tried to everything possible to fight it with chemo and other things. Right now the doctors are telling us that most of her small intestine are paralyzed and food cannot go completely through the GI tract. She has a peg tube in her stomach but when we try to clamp it to let food or liquid through she gets obstructions. Right now my wife is at home in hospice care and we have two young boys (3 and 5) i am wondering and hoping that there might be some way that you know of that she can get some form of nutrition other than by IV we are open to any suggestions. Thank you, Casey

Answer
Hello Castulo!

Thank you for your nutrition question. Sorry to hear about your wife's cancer. However, there is a product called Juice Plus chewables which is made entirely from fresh fruits and vegatables and dissolves in the mouth.  It is the perfect product for your wife and I would purchase it as soon as possible. It is made from cancer fighting fruits and vegetables and may benefit her greatly. It can be purchased at www.juiceblend.com  Let me know if you have more questions.
