15 lbs and healthier

Question
My name is Sharry I'm 18 year old (female). I'm 5'6 1/2" and 145 lbs. I'm not "fat". I'm a VERY unhealthy 145 lbs. My goal is to lose 15 lbs of fat and then gain 5 or 10 back in muscle and tone. My two questions to you are what would be the best multivitamin for someone my age? I know that I need a very good one preferably one with iron but I have no idea where to start. I also was wondering if you had any tips for someone my age who works 2 p.t. jobs and is in college full time living on there own (barley time to sleep) to have a quick but healthier diet? Most of the time I only eat what I can grab out of the fridge on my way out, or something microwaveable. Thanks so much for your time

Answer
Hello Sharry!

Thank you for your nutrition question.  The best nutrition supplement for you would be a product Juice Plus which is made from 17 fresh fruits and vegetables. It comes in capsules or chewables and is a very easy way to get the nutrition you need since you are a busy college student. Sometimes you do not have the time to eat the required amound of servings of fruits and vegetables so this is a great alternative.  The website to purchase it is www.juiceblend.com
Here are some other great tips:
Instead of eating a bag of regular potato chips, eat "baked" chips. Instead of drinking a soda, drink bottled water. Buy some fruit, and store slices of fruit in baggies until time to grab it for a snack. You can easily do this with grapes, oranges, apples, etc. Raw vegetables with dip make great snacks too! Just be sure and store them in the fridge or freezer if you're going to keep them any length of time. Instead of eating a candy bar on the go, eat a granola bar. Granola bars come in many different flavors and have far less sugar than plain candy bars.

Planning ahead with healthier snacks will prevent you from giving in to the "easy" temptations that are so readily available at every convenience store or snack bar!

Tip #2:

Drink plenty of water.

Drinking water helps your entire body to function more properly. Your mind clears and your body is able to digest and flush your foods easier. In almost every diet plan, drinking water is the key to the plan. Drinking water has plenty of added benefits such as added energy, less hunger, healthier body cells, reduced water retention, etc.

Tip #3:

Eat regularly scheduled meals. Check out www.mypyramid.gov

Hope your studies are going great for 2007!
