depression, sleep and nutrition

Question
Can you tell me what specific foods can help with depression?

Also, I'm having trouble sleeping.  What foods help with sleep and depression at the same time?

Answer
HI Marley,

Best thing for depression is a body in motion. Esp. if it is something not boring - I prefer the term Play to Exercise. Walk. Outdoors. Just sneak a few minutes here and there can make a difference.

Now, food. Real food, not flavored packing material. Out with refined sugar, refined flour, cooked fruit, recooked anything.

The biggest bummer is refined sugar.

Exercise helps with insomnia, less depression helps, just realizing that you can focus on what you are thinking can help. Just decide to think positive, not wishful thoughts and visualise what you want, not what you are worried about.

Very ripe bananas have something in them that can help sleeping.
