-----Question-----
hi there!! uhmm well im 13 years old and i HATE the way i look. like sometimes i wake up in the morning look in the mirror and i will actually cry and want to throw up! i have a pot belly flubbery legs and fat arms. ive tried being bulimic and annerexic for about a year and i was pretty happy with the results but i stopped doing that and ive gained like half of what i lost! now im not obiesed and im thankful for that but i do get teased for the way i look and i was just wondering if you have any tips on ways to lose weight fast!! im already doing sit ups and push ups and im looking into going to the gym..but is there any other ways to make me lose at least 10 lbs fast?:S thanks
-----Answer-----
the one thing I can absolutely, positively guarentee is the bulimia won't work. It can kill you in a most embarrassing and excrutiating painful way, but it won't really keep you thin.  More than 90% of all bulimics are 'average' or even 'overweight'.

the other thing I can guarentee is that ANY diet you go on will likely fail once you go off. You'll re-gain all the lost weight and 20% more.  Usually within a year.

Finally - yes, you can pretty easily lose 10 lbs, but the "fast" part is what scares me. If you want "fast" you want a gimmick and I can't do gimmicks.  I spent my entire life, from age 12, on gimmicks. None of them worked either.

You've got the stress of your age and a changing body - you're nowhere near what you're destined to be shaped like, but it's so hard to realize that given all the air-brushed nonsense perpetuated in magazines, on t.v. and in movies.  We ALL need to walk around with an artist touching us up before anyone else sees us through filtered lenses with computer enhancements and detractions. Unfortuneately this isn't likely.

What kind of exercise do you LIKE?  Bike riding? Walking? Swimming? What?
What do you typically eat in a day? What's breakfast? How many fruits do you have? What's your favorite treat? Is everyone in the family going to support you?

You can let me know and I'll do what I can to help you avoid a life of constant dieting - or you can check my page where it's all spelled out already (cause there's no room here)  www.GetThereal.info

 You can do this!

Answer
Sometimes it's easy for family to forget how they felt at 13. How very important things were, even when, in retrospect - they are now so meaningless.

Having breakfast is VERY important. It's probably the biggest mistake people make. Studies (real ones, not ones put out by diet products or the dairy industry or anyone else with ulterior motives) prove that breakfast eaters (especially whole grains) have a lower overall weight than non-breakfast eaters.

Sugar, by the way, is not the enemy.  Nor is ice cream. How MUCH you have is where the problem often lies.  Did you know that a serving of ice cream is what will fit in one of those 4-5 ounce paper cups (or pudding cups) ? When is the last time anyone had just that much ice cream?
The other day I found a bag of specialty cookies, no bigger than any other cookie really, but deep chocolate with big chunks in them. A 'serving' was 120 calories.  I thought, 'hey, that's not bad. 120 cals a cookie' ----- ummmm, no. Read the small print on the label and it says that there's FOUR servings per cookie!!!  So, take a cookie, cut it in quarters and each little bite is 120 calories :(   I think not.  What they were trying to hide is that each cookie was 480 calories!  That's a nice big frozen dinner and a salad (if you pick the right dinner).

Really - take a look at my page and you'll see a lot more about how to proceed with this. You don't have to sign in or sign up or anything else - totally free.
