Waist Watching

Question
Hi, I have been following a relatively healthy diet in a bid to lose weight for the past two weeks. I eat oats for breakfast, soup for lunch (sometimes with a wholewheat role) and have fish and broccoli for dinner. I occasionally have pasta but not very often. The only snacks I have been eating are low fat yoghurts and at that only one a day. I also drink at least 2 litres of water and walk 4 miles to and from work every day. My problem is that I seem to be putting on weight! Specifically, my stomach is bloating away out and jeans that were always lose on me now won't close! I am getting very down about this especially since I am making the effort to eat healthier. Could you please tell me where I might be going wrong?

Thank You

Jo

Answer
Hello Jo,

It looks like the amount of carbohydrates in your diet might be too high and amount of 'good' is definitely too low for you. The midsection is usually a pretty good indicator of such a situation. Also, you might want to add more demanding exercise to your walking. Research showed that endurance and interval training can be needed to get rid of the 'apple' shape.
