Question
QUESTION: I eat lightly salted roasted peanuts in the shell is there any nutritional value for the shells ?
ANSWER: Hello George,
By the shell I am assuming you mean the very thin dark brown skin. If that is the case then 'yes'. It contains a lot of antioxidant properties.

Have a look at http://ift.confex.com/ift/2005/techprogram/paper_32062.htm

for some more details or just do a goole search for peanut skin.

Hope this helps and please remember; it is not about the single foods we eat, it is all about the balance of foods in our bodies...for more info have a look at http://thinkslimntrim.org/information

Best of luck

QUESTION: nutritional value of peanut shell, the outside caseing that contains the peanut ?

Answer
Right then- the outer casing that can contain the peanuts inside it. This shell is only good for agricultural filler.
It does contain fibre but it can also easily contain aflotoxins which are deadly. There have ben reported deaths from consumption of peanut shells that have had this mould on them.

I would stay away from them as the one benfit of fibre can be gained so easily through whole grains and veg.
Hope this answers your question.
