I seem to be stuck....

Question
I'm a 16 year old female, and I have an issue. Although all the "BMI calculators" and such on the web indicate that I am at a healthy weight, I have a big belly. It wiggles, it jiggles, it flaps in the wind... it's just not that cute. The rest of me is slender, I just have a very 'apple' shaped body. It's annoying. Do you know of any ways I might be able to combat my tummy fat? Thanks in advance!

Answer
Dear Adriana, Apple shapes are genetic and you can't change your genetics. If you have extra body fat in the area, then you can reduce it with a healthy diet and daily exercise. Walking everyday for 30 minutes and lifting light weights will lower your overall body fat, including that tummy area. Another way to make that area appear smaller is by doing abdominal exercises that target the lower ab area. Leg lifts lying down are just one of the exercises that strengthen and tighten your lower abs. You might want to consult a trainer to help you with an exercise plan to tighten those muscles and lose that last little fat you might be carrying. Hope that helps, Laura Kraemer,Slimkids.com
